Set up your operator account
Sign in for the first time and complete the day-0 setup checklist.
Your operator workspace is provisioned by the Obsidian Jet team before your first sign-in. This page is what you do once you have an invite in hand.
Before you start
Obsidian Jet provisions your tenant, your subdomain (<your-slug>.obsidianjet.com),
and your first admin invite. You don't run any part of this yourself — it's a
one-time step done for you when your operator account is created. When it's
done, you'll receive an invite email with a one-time sign-in link.
Steps
- Open your invite email and sign in. Follow the link, set your password on first sign-in, and you'll land in the OS console at your operator's subdomain.
- Open the Setup checklist. From the console, go to Admin → Setup. This is your day-0 checklist — it tracks the items below live, against your real tenant data, and resumes at the next incomplete step.
- Set your certificate and company identity. Go to Admin → Certificate & Identity and record your FAA Part 135 certificate number and your certificate holder's legal name. This step is what marks the Setup checklist's "operator identity & certificate" item done.
- Add a billing entity. Go to Billing Entities (in the Accounting & Tax section of the console sidebar) and add the legal bill-from identity your invoices will be issued under. A Stripe Connect account gets you paid; a billing entity is the separate step that lets you issue an invoice at all.
- Work the rest of the checklist. The remaining Setup items — fleet, crew, OpSpec authorizations, pricing, pricing policy, inviting a teammate, Stripe Connect — each deep-link to their own console surface and are covered in the other Admins guides in this section.
The Setup checklist counts real records, not clicks — a step ticks the moment the underlying data exists (a certificate number saved, an active billing entity, a tail with an hourly rate), whichever surface you used to create it.
