Record win/loss and decline reasons

Attach a structured reason to a lost quote so the win/loss rollup reflects why deals are actually lost, not just that they were.

Knowing a quote was lost tells you nothing about why. Obsidian Jet lets you attach a structured decline reason to a lost quote, then rolls those reasons up into a win-rate report so a pattern (price, availability, a competitor) becomes visible instead of buried in individual quote notes.

1. Find your closed deals

  1. Open Win/Loss. The list shows recently closed quotes — accepted (WON), and declined or expired (LOST/EXPIRED).
  2. Each row links to its quote — click the route (e.g. KBOS → KDCA) to open the quote record itself, never a bare id.

2. Attach a decline reason to a lost quote

Won quotes are read-only here — a won deal is never re-classified as lost. Lost and expired quotes get a reason picker.

  1. On a lost/expired row with no reason recorded yet, pick a reason from the dropdown: Price, Availability, Timing, Aircraft, Competitor, Trip cancelled, Compliance, or Other.

Compliance here is a loss-reason category the rep selects (e.g. the trip couldn't be authorized in time) — recording it is not the platform asserting a compliance verdict. A trip's actual compliance state is a separate, live-verified read that stays PENDING_VERIFICATION until authoritative data confirms it; see Read compliance verdicts.

  2. Optionally add a note, then submit.
  3. This calls the same decline route the quote's own decline action uses, so the reason is stamped on the actual record, not just tracked locally in this view.

3. Read the win-rate rollup

  1. The panel next to the list shows your win rate and a breakdown of decline reasons by count, over the loaded window — sourced from the same report, never invented figures.
  2. If no decline reasons have been recorded yet in the window, the panel says so plainly instead of showing an empty chart as if there were nothing to report.

Recording a reason as soon as a deal is lost keeps the rollup honest. If you're chasing a quote that hasn't closed yet, that's a follow-up task, not a decline — see Follow up on open quotes and re-engage.
